Are you over 16? Yes
Characters Played Here: Steve Rogers, Hermione Granger, Little Rock

Character: John Connor
Series/Canon:
From When? Season 2 post Episode 5 (For the purposes of this game, I would like to make John 18, because season 2 was all timey whimey on his age)

History: John hardly had what some would call a normal childhood. In fact, it was the exact opposite. He spent a great majority of his childhood on the run with only his mother for support. It worked for them most of the time. John grew up knowing about Machines, and hating them. He didn't fear them like his mother, he just hated what the represented. He really just wanted to be a normal teenage boy. He thought everything was going along well, until a machine found them at school, and then the adventure began.

John Connor
Terminator: TSCC

John met a rag tag bunch of people along the way. In addition to his mother, his Uncle Derrick came from the future to help him in his quest to stop the end of the world. He also gained help from a machine named Cameron, who supposedly helped him in the future. It was kind of like a little family. The straw that broke the camel's back, however came when John found out through his Uncle that they boy, Marty Bedell, that they had come to save in the present had actually died for him in the future. They all had died for him. It was too much for John to bear. Eli's offer came at the perfect time, and he accepted it.

Personality: John's motivations for everything that he does in life is to protect the people that he cares about. That includes his mother, Derek, Cameron, and Riley. He knows that his mother doesn't always see it that way and part of that will always bother him. He does what he thinks is right, and that is all that he can do. The weight of having to save the world is heavy on John, and he deals with it to the best of his ability, but he doesn't always make the right choices. When he makes bad choices, he alone has to deal with the consequences, or so he thinks. In reality, everyone around him has to deal with his questionable choices. That, however, just strives to make him better.

John is a firm believer in doing what is right, no matter what the consequences. He firmly believes that killing is wrong, and he avoids doing it at all cost. Taking a life, or losing someone important to him emotionally hurts him. It's like a tear in the fabric of his heart. He stands up for what he believes in, mostly with his mother and Derek, but he has also stood up to Cameron a time or two. It is never easy, but he does what needs to be done. Some might say he is morally ambiguous, but that couldn't be further from the truth. In his world it is kill or be killed, and he does what he needs to do to survive.

John's hope for the future is just that he has one. He fears that he won't. That underlying principle for his life is what drives him in everything that does. His fear for himself, and the people that he cares about often lead him to make reckless decisions. His decisions sometimes lead him to lose the people that he loves, and he hates that. He wishes more than anything that he could just fix everything with one keystroke, and be done with it. He knows however that he can't. His biggest fear is that all of his hard work would be for nothing, and that in fact he would change nothing in the future. All of the people that have sacrificed their lives, and it wouldn't matter. He hoped he never had to find out.

John's family is everything to him. It used to be just he and his mother, and he was really fine with that. Then Derek came into their lives, and now john can't imagine a future without him in it. He even considers Cameron family, perhaps more if he is honest with himself. He couldn't really function as well as he does without all the contributions made by the people around him. John is a firm believer in surrounding yourself with good people, and his family fills that role for him.

John doesn't outwardly show his feelings about the situations that he finds himself in,but he feels things very deeply. He has developed strong emotional ties to the people closest to him, and every time something happens to one of them, a little piece of him dies inside. He definitely suffers from PTSD, even though it is undiagnosed, and has dealt with nightmares since he found out his role in the world. He wishes that most days, he didn't have to feel anything, but that is not the way his world works.

Meeting and saving Marty Bladell felt like something good that John did in the mess that he now calls his life. It was important, not only for the future, but also to him personally. And to find out that he died anyway, broke John.
Why do you think your character would work in this setting? Why did your character accept Eli's offer? How will they respond to the setting? Will they interact well with others?

John never thought that he would accept an offer like Eli's, but then Marty Bledell happened. His encounter with Derek and Marty shook John to his core, so when Eli showed up he jumped at the chance to escape. He didn't want anyone else to die because of him, and according to Derek they all had died. It was too much for John to bear so he fled.

John will seemingly fit into New Dodge on the outside. He will be pleasant when spoken to, and polite when questioned. On the inside, however he is a bit of a loner, and will mostly stay to himself. He will not seek anyone in particular out, but he isn't activly avoiding people either. It will take John some time to come down off fight or flight mode, so bear with him.

Does your character have any close ties to existing canon characters? The only character that John would know is Allison, but he will not know her as Allison, but rather as Cameron, a machine.

Why do you think your character would work in this setting? Why did your character accept Eli's offer? How will they respond to the setting? Will they interact well with others?

Dear Mom:

It seems stupid to me to be writing a letter, but there you have it. I don't have anyone else here that I can talk to, much less anyone that I could share my feelings with. I know, I know, feelings should not enter into anything.

I am in a new place. It's nice, a little dusty, a lot like Mexico but without the machines trying to kill us. I am going to try living here for awhile. The deal was too good to pass up.

I want a life Mom, I hope you understand.

Love-

John
